Cambodia Adventure Continued!

There are so many things about Cambodia that Scott and I have come to love and are learning that we are truly going to miss it when we leave here in a few days.  The people are always what make a place home and we have seen through the loving people here that Cambodia has become home in many ways to us both.

SERVING BESIDE THE LONG TERM
MISSIONARIES IN CAMBODIA

We have been living with some of the long term missionaries here in Cambodia, Mark and Ashley Smith and their two amazing children (http://post28.wordpress.com/).  We have been honored to really see life through their eyes and how to live in Cambodia with a family while serving in ministry.  They have welcomed us with open arms into their everyday life.  Including Thanksgiving and decorating for Christmas!

Scott and the Smith Family putting the Christmas tree together!

Us all decorating the tree together!

Scott and I have had so much opportunity to serve in various ways!  Scott has worked on a few different projects for the long term workers here.  We have learned that everything takes longer here.  Building a bookshelf or anything is a process and a labor of love.  So it was such a huge blessing for Scott to be able to serve with his other gifts of building.

SLUM MINISTRY IN CAMBODIA

I was also able to go to one of the slum areas that they serve at every week.  Here are a few picture of my time there.  What an amazing time of seeing the smiling faces of kids and how lives are changed through the love and care of individuals.

I was so blessed to walk these streets where so many families live and where I was able to laughing children.

Life In Cambodia!!

Hey Everyone! We hope that you are all doing well. We have been in Cambodia for about 10 days now and we are loving every second of it! It is such a blessing to be with some of our best friends that we formed relationships with in Montana who live here and are part of such an amazing ministry in this country. We are loving being able to form new relationships with many other people, especially Cambodians that range from our tuk tuk driver to the amazing guys who translate when we teach and the incredible Khmer and Western students that we are blessed to get to know.
We arrived in Siem Reap and spent 3 days recovering  from the 24 hour journey that it took to get to the other side of the world. We spent those 3 days fighting jet lag, touring Angkor Wat, one of the world's largest temple complexes, and studying too:)

                          I'm On A Boat!!

After our time in Siem Reap we traveled north via an "adventurous" taxi ride to Battambang to be with our friends Mark and Ashley and their son Trey and daughter Tru, our friend Luke, and lots of new Khmer friends. So we have been in Battambang for 1 week and it has been great. Rachael taught the book of Romans in the SBS(School of Biblical Studies) and Scott taught from the book of Acts at a community meeting.

This week Rachael will be teaching the book of 1st Corinthians in the SBS and Scott will be working on some maintenance and construction projects around the campus. We are so excited to serve the people of Cambodia through the giftings that the Lord has given us.

Prayer Requests:

Health and safety as we work and travel

Rachael has been struggling with migraines on a regular basis

A reliable vehicle when we return to Colorado Springs

An affordable house to rent in Colorado Springs. We would love to have a house so that we can host friends, family, guests, and students and provide a place of rest and relaxation and minister to them as well.

Currently we are seeking to raise our financial support level in order to afford the rental of a house and purchase a vehicle, and also a computer for Scott. Right now we are sharing the same computer for work and purchasing another will be very helpful and is necessary for our ministry.

We are looking for
30 new partners who would pledge $30 a month.
This is a tax deductible donation that can be made through check or automatic withdrawl.

If any of you would like to discuss our needs and ministry and how you can be involved or would just like to catch up or even if you have prayer requests, please do not hesitate to contact us!

God bless,
Scott and Rach
